Bar Rita is born in Sorrento
The long term history and experience of Bar Rita is strongly linked to the Russo family. We can say with confidence that the engine of one of the pillars of the pastry shop and rotisserie in Sorrento is made by the love, passion and expertise of the members of the Russo family. Everything gets started in 1967, when Giovanni Russo is given the chance to take over the job of a lifetime, and he can finally show what he has learnt over the years in a long career as a cook started at the age of 18 in Sorrento at the Tramontano hotel and the restaurant Francischiello.
Fresh and genuine ingredients
The career in this field also took him abroad at the Canadian embassy in Teheran, at the sunset of the empire of the Shah. In Canada as well, during the world Expo. Traditional Workshop
In this initial phase Giovanni Russo could count on the support of his brother, already with him in the work experience cited above, and on his wife Vittoria. They were since the beginning busy in the kitchen of the Bar, that can easily be defined a craftsman’s laboratory. This family tradition went on and their children, Luigi and Patrizia, joined in. In 2005 the shop was restyled: they decided to give their customer a brand new image but although the shop may have looked new, the motto and the method of work of the Bar Rita has always remained the same. All the people who work in Bar Rita always have in mind the origin and the extraordinary kind relationship with the customers, both local or foreigner.
